How to repair sliding screen door? Do you know the items that are always on your to-do list? Today's release is about solving one of those tedious tasks. Since we moved to our apartment, the sliding door (outside our main room) is broken. The screen was super loose and there was a hole next to the handle.
The hole was not big... so I doubt that too many beetles have slipped. But still... it did not look good and it certainly did not work well. For the past 2 years I have been thinking about attaching the screen door when I use this. But for some reason I never came to that. After preparing our patio for the warmer months, I finally decided to go for it.
Fortunately, repairing a broken screen is incredibly easy. I've done it in the past (here is a previous release suuuuuper), but since then I've learned some tips and techniques that really help keep the screen tense and smooth at the end of the project. You cannot do this do-it-yourself project with the door in place, so I have removed the door from your job and carried it inside.
Once the door was switched off, I removed the handle on the side of the door with a screwdriver. This has to be eliminated because it hinders the new screen printing. I kept the handle and the small screws in a bag to keep them safe while working on this project.
I took the screen door and put it on the table in our dining room to tackle this project. You can do it on the ground if you want. Make sure you have a large, flat workspace. The
spline is the elastic cord that holds the screen in place.
The reason the screen door was broken was because the spine appeared and the screen loosened. I removed the old key with a screwdriver. I just dug a screwdriver into the opening in one of the corners and pulled it out of the whole perimeter of the door.
You can throw this spline (it will probably be pretty disgusting) because you want to use a new spline when you get the new projection. Once the spline was eliminated, the projection was no longer safe. I rolled it out and threw it away. Our screen was so dirty. I was not sad to throw it away.
The old stuff shatter, it was time to start a new project. I started the new screen for the whole door and left a few centimeters longer on each side. After he was packed, I have a knife to cut.
DIY advice: You can choose different protrusions in the hardware store. If you have pets, there are more expensive options that are thicker and more durable. We went with a standard because we have pets or children. With the new detection in place, I grabbed my tool roll. This tool is essential for this project, so do not squeeze it into the store for purchase (or Amazon).
Prime is my life! Previously, you rolled the right and left of the door to ensure that the screen was pushed to the edge of the slit when it left. Once the right side and the left side were finished, it rolled up and down earlier.
Council member DIY: instead of clockwise or counterclockwise by the edge of the door, then the right side, the left side, the top and then the bottom of the screen. This prevents waves and disinfection. Instead, you have a good projection without waves! This was the first time I used this technique and made the whole project a lot easier.
